About GPJ Residential

Gregory P. Jones, P.E.
Gregory P. Jones, P.E. brings decades of engineering and construction experience to residential projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. His connection to building began long before his engineering career. Gregory grew up in a family of carpenters and worked alongside them from a young age, gaining hands-on experience with wood framing and residential construction. That early exposure gave him a practical understanding of how homes are put together, which later complemented his formal engineering education and professional practice.
A 1976 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Gregory earned bachelor's degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Throughout his career, he has combined the analytical perspective of an engineer with the practical knowledge of a builder. In 1985, he established the practice that continues today through GPJ Residential, bringing engineering and construction experience together to help San Francisco Bay Area homeowners develop solutions that are technically sound, practical to build, and appropriate for their homes.
